Communication is important for whenever you are going to be on the open seas. The use of mobile phones, however, may be quite costly when roaming charges are applied. Having a CB radio on your boat allows one to communicate and get in touch with fellow boaters and be aware of changing conditions. At the same time, it also keeps you notified about any crucial news that may be coming in from shore. A CB radio is also essential in cases of emergencies.
